The History of Manchester Class

This class started in 1997 with the aim of looking at the history of Manchester is all its aspects. Over the years were have not only talked about the history of the city from Roman times to the present day, but also examined a number of specific areas such as “Manchester at War in the 20th century”, “The streets of Manchester” “Leisure and pleasure in Manchester”, “Halls of the Greater Manchester area” as well as looking at the life and work of a number of people who made their names in Manchester. During the forth coming year we will be looking at the history of the various suburbs on the south side of the city.
The classes are very informal and those attending are always very friendly.
